Delegation of the Agency for Control and Quality Assurance of Higher Education, led by director, Prof. dr Srđa Popović, are in study visit to Slovenian Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education in Ljubljana.
During the study visit were discussed development stages and processes that have been passed by the Slovenian Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education in Ljubljana since their establishment. Representatives of the Slovenian agency emphasized the importance of the independence of agencies involved in accreditation of study programs and institutions of higher education in decision-making and organization, as a condition of membership in the European Register of Higher Education Quality Assurance Agencies that would allow Montenegro for nostrification recognition of diplomas in the European Higher Education Area. They point out that this is a long process involving the assessment of all participants in the higher education system in accordance with European standards and guidelines. The experience of other agencies in the region is extremely important for the just established Montenegrin Agency, trying to establish the basis of the system in a way that responds to European requirements and improves the quality of the Montenegrin higher education system.
Meeting with Slovenian colleagues, exchanging experience and giving advice is an important guideline for the Montenegrin Agency, especially considering that Slovenian institutions of higher education are in high-ranking position in the world. Representatives of the two Agencies agreed on the establishment of mutual cooperation and joint work on capacity building in the field of higher education.
